In the morning

Psalm 5:3 amp. "In the morning You hear my voice, O Lord; in the morning I prepare [a prayer, a sacrifice] for You and watch  and  wait [for You to speak to my heart]." It takes an alarm clock to get many of us up in the morning. How many times have we turned off the alarm clock to get a little more sleep? Why is it so hard to get up?  A new day brings new mercies from the Lord. We can't live on yesterday's mercies. They are in the past. The morning brings a new day that has no yesterday, but it holds the future. During this time the heart is refreshed, and there are no distractions from the world. King David made it a habit to see seek the face of the Lord in the morning. It takes sacrifice to get up a half hour earlier and find your way to the prayer closet. In that time of sacrifice comes the blessing of watching and waiting on the Lord to speak to your heart. King David learned that dependence on the Lord was his first necessity, in the mist of the morning hours. We must also long for daily communion with God the Father, and the greatest time for this communion is early in the morning before the world starts moving. We all have the time. Pray for Strength to rise early.
