Forgive Them

"Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots" (Luke 23:34 KJV). The purpose of our Lord Jesus Christ's ministry is forgiving and making people whole. He healed and forgave back then, just as He still does today for so many people. He came into this world to forgive, to bring healing to the heart, soul, and mind, and to deliver men, women, and children out of captivity. He is our healer, and He still forgives. To forgive is a very hard thing to do, especially if hurt follows, and it usually does. Unforgiveness holds many bound. It keeps so many people in depression and unhappiness. The enemy works with unforgiveness. He loves how the children of God hold bitterness towards one another and how many cannot forgive. As Jesus hung on the cross, He looked around at the people who mocked Him, nailed Him to the cross, spit on Him, threw rocks at Him, and yelled "crucify Him"; yet He was able to look past all of that. Jesus looked up to the Father in heaven and cried, "Father forgive them for they know not what they do". We too must forgive those who have come against us so that we can be free from the pain and misery of an unforgiving heart. Jesus has already forgiven us, and He demonstrated this by what He did upon the cross. We need a heart of forgiveness or the Father won't forgive us. Ask for a heart of forgiveness. We need a heart that will forgive one another as Christ has taught us how to forgive. God bless you. Amen.
