O God, You are my God
Psalms 63:1. "O God,You are my God; early will I seek You: my soul thirsts for You, my flesh longs for You in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is."
In this Psalms David is in the wilderness of Judah, fleeing from Saul, and he has found no rest except for in the Lord. Saul was out to kill him, just as the devil is out to kill you and I in this world. David put his heart to seek the Lord early, instead of running from God in times of trouble and looking for the answer in the world. He was in a spiritual drought. His soul was thristy for the living water. That Living Water can only come from God's Throne. Not only did his soul thrist, but his flesh was weak, faint, and exhausted. The Lord is the only true strength in times of need. Just like David, many times we too will feel so far from God, and only long to see His Power and Glory again. This isn't a time to run from God, but to seek Him in Spirit and in Truth. Does your heart thirst for God? I believe many people do thirst, and the only way to be filled is to seek His Face. David knew the help would come from the Lord when he would begin to praise Him. v:7."Because You have been my help, therefore in the shadow of Your wings will I rejoice." The Holy Spirit is here to help. So, allow Him to help you. Rejoice in your Help and praise the LORD.
