The Lord my God
"And David said to Solomon: “My son, as for me, it was in my mind to build a house to the name of the LORD my God" (I Chronicles 22:7 NKJV). King David knew what getting alone with God was all about. He did not let anyone or anything come in between him and God. There's something about a person who gets alone with God on a daily basis. Every time the struggles came and the enemy faced King David, he did nothing on his own understanding, but he went to a place of prayer to get direction from God above. God directed this man all of his life. Yes, there were times where David fell short and sinned, as we all do. However, that did not keep David from seeking the Lord. Prayer keeps us in touch with our God. During that daily communion, one will find themselves long and thirst for more of God's presence. One can never be totally satisfied with only a lukewarm prayer life because the born-again Christian begins to understand that true life comes from the One True God daily. When David was old in age, he said to his son Solomon, "it has been my desire to build the Lord's house for God's presence, but that was not God's plan". However, the man of God had a strong desire for God's presence, a strong enough desire to build God a house of prayer. Prayer keeps God's presence in our midst, whenever we need Him, and helps us in standing up against our enemies. God bless you. Amen
