You Are Not Your Own
“I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing" (John 15:5 NKJV). Jesus makes it clear that the only way you and I will ever bear fruit is to abide in Him. He wants to be first in our lives, and that means self has to go. The Spirit of God is not going to share our bodies with ourselves and with Him. We must remember we are not our own any more. Jesus paid the price for you and I to have a free life, one free of bondage. The Holy Spirit wants all of us or none at all. God created us to be a temple, a place that He can dwell in and manifest His love and peace through. "Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own"? ( 1 Corinthians 6:19). The only way Christ Jesus will show Himself to others is through a willing, self denying, cross believing, and blood bought person. The branch is nothing without the Vine. The branch can only bear fruit when it is one with the Vine. Jesus does not graft the old you into the Vine. The old you must go to the cross and die. Make that decisive dedication with your body to become one with the Lord! God bless you. Amen
