He sees the Heart

Today on my way to work, I was behind a city bus and on its advertisement plaque were the words "Depressed call hot line number". This caused me to think about how many people in America, or even around this world, that are living in depression. I was once trapped in depression, and it isn't very easy to come out of it. Years ago, before I met Jesus, I was driving drunk and hit into my Mother and her husband from behind, and my Mom died. I didn't know what had happened until I inquired of the doctor. I asked, "How is my mom?He replied, "You killed her son". Depression and its friend suicide took over my life. I just wanted to hide from my brothers and sister, and die. Let me tell you, Satan sure did try to take my life, and not only mine, but my siblings' also. It wasn't until years later that I found myself lost, empty, and with nothing to call my own. I lost everything, a marriage, home, and job, all due to depression and feeling sorry for myself. It took me all that pain and loss to realize that I am helpless in this world, and that life is too short to live in self pity. I have found Jesus, and He loves me so much. He didn't condemn me for what I did, but He opened His arms and ran to me. Just like we read in Luke 15:11-32. It speaks about The Prodigal Son, v:32. "It was fitting to celebrate and be glad, for this brother of yours was dead, and is alive, he was lost, and is found." We don't need to live our lives in depression and in hopelessness. Jesus is waiting for us when we make up our minds. We don't need to call some number, just cry out to Him.  He came to save the world, not to condemn it. Give the Lord Praise today.
