The True Altar

2 Kings 16:10-18  King Ahaz was not satisfied with the great altar of God that was in front of the Temple of Jerusalem, the very altar the Lord had designed, which was a type of Calvary. He had Urijah the priest fashion an altar that was in Damascus: 2 Chron. 28:23 And he sacrificed unto the gods of Damascus, which smote him.  He said, because the god of the kings of Syria helped them, therefore will I sacrifice to them, that they may help me. But they were the ruin of him, and of all Israel. Victory only comes from the one True Altar, and it was on the hill called Golgotha where the one and only Perfect Sacrifice hung, Jesus Christ.  Many churches in America are taking down the Cross of Christ in their sanctuaries. It offends people today, so the church takes them down to make the people feel comfortable. Who said that Christianity was comfortable. It wasn't that way when the church first begun in the book of Acts. Many were persecuted and martyred for that Cross, the one True Altar. We have to open our eyes, and look how the enemy comes into the House of God. King Ahaz made an alliance with the enemy. He made the enemy feel welcome in the House of God by removing God's Holy altar, and putting an altar that would please, not only himself, but also the devil. Come on, let's stop giving the devil more ground! Fight for the One True Sacrifice  who hung on the Cross of Calvary. The Cross of Christ is an offense, but offense or not, that very Cross, where Jesus laid alone, can deliver men from sin. Pray for your Country to get back to the One True Cross.
