Heart after other gods.

"For when Solomon was old, his wives turned away his heart after other gods, and his heart was not perfect (complete and whole) with the Lord his God, as was the heart of David his father" (1 Kings 11:4 AMP). King Solomon was a man with great wisdom and wealth. However, just like most people in the world, he began to put something first in his heart rather than God and this became his downfall. All the wisdom and money in the world cannot stop the mind from being hindered or from the enemy attacking the children of God. What hinders you from going farther with God? When we decide to go all the way with the Lord, the enemy will come and try to hinder us from maturing in faith in Christ. If we have a passion for the Lord, all the opposition and attacks will be a time of growth and of maturity in our walk. In other words, Jesus will get us through it, and when we come out of it growth will show. There will always be a fight for our souls and the biggest battle will come from ourselves. There will be things that we must give up, those things we once desired to do that took us away from God's purpose. Some of it might not be sinful, but if it keeps us from truly giving our whole hearts to Jesus, it will become our own hindrance. There is no way a person can have victory if the heart still wants to do what it wants to. This makes it hard to walk close to the Lord and to do as He wants in our lives. It will always hinder us from truly doing His will. This must be dealt with or in time we will begin to do our own will and loose sight of the Cross of Jesus. God bless you. Amen
