Trying of your faith
"My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience"(James 1:2-3) God will make a way when there seems like there is no way. There was a time when I felt that I shamed God so bad. I did my own thing, things that I shouldn't have been doing, and it tore my heart up. I have watched over the years how many young men and women get caught up in doing their own thing and guilt begins to set in their minds. There was a time when I looked at myself and said, "I am so unworthy to serve the Lord." Or I have said, "I am a failure." These words echoed through my mind, and it just seems like in these times in my life I was just going through the motion of serving Christ. So many in the church and out in the world face this. It is a stage of growth and the only way through it is at the altar on our knees with the Lord. There's no other remedy out of this time of failure. Jesus died on the cross for times like this. Jesus knew that we would be met with discouragement. He knew that failure would stick to us and want to take over our hearts. Who said serving Christ would be easy? Just as King David failed with Bethsheba and committed horrible sins, King David found himself face down to the ground crying out for forgiveness and crying out to the Lord for help. It is not time to run from God's mercy. All men fail. We must get up, run to the altar of The Lord, and confess our sins and repent. Jesus saves us in our failures. Don't be discouraged, but stand once again in the hope of our Saviour. God bless you. Amen.
