Anointed

"Then Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him in the midst of his brothers; and the Spirit of the LORD came upon David from that day forward. So Samuel arose and went to Ramah" (I Samuel 16:13 NKJV). Goliath was not going to stop speaking down against the Army of Israel until he got total victory, and the Army of Israel was not going to prevail over this giant until they got under the anointing of God the Father. Young David was anointed with a king's anointing, but he would not sit on the king's throne for many years. God had to prepare this young man at a young age. He was being prepared for the plan and destiny God had for his life. Young David kept his father's sheep. He was in the fields tending to his father's business as an adolescent. He grew to protect his father's sheep. David watched over them with his life. When the enemy of the sheep came near, he did not run but stood up against the enemy. He fought a bear and a lion. He learned skills from being out there in the field. He taught himself how to praise God the Father and how to sing songs unto Him. Young David was what God was looking for, and God anointed him. Then, he heard Goliath speaking against God the Father in Heaven, and it did something within young David's heart. It brought out a supernatural strength, where all fear was gone. David grabbed five smooth stones, put them in his shepherd's bag, and ran to meet this great giant. The philistine giant went down with the shepherd's stone stuck in his forehead. This is what the anointing of God does. It does not keep us in pews, but it sends us forth before the giants. The enemy cannot stop or intimidate the Spirit of God within a person's life, for they know the power of God within their hearts. God bless you. Amen
