Dead indeed unto sin

"Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord" (‭Romans‬ ‭6‬:‭11‬ KJV). Sin in one's life can feel heavy, and one can get so over burdened in the soul that they want to give up. They might feel what's the use and say they can't do this walk. Sin never feels good to the natural man, and it is a hindrance to the godly man. It is a burden that brings no peace to one's soul. It separates man from God's desires and God's presence. One cannot live a life in sin and try to bear their cross. If one attempts to live this way, they will find themselves miserable, upset, and only wanting to quit. Jesus carried the sin of the world to Calvary, and the result of sin is death. Death to self is the way that sin stops in one's life. "For he that is dead is freed from sin. Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him"(vs.7). The apostle Paul says, "reckon you also yourself to be dead indeed on to sin"(vs.8). We must look at ourselves as being dead to sin, but alive in Christ. There is nothing we can do apart from Jesus Christ and the cross. There is no sanctification and no victory over sin in one's life without Jesus and the cross. We are alive in God, as long as our faith is in Jesus Christ and His finished work at the cross. Victory comes through our faith in Jesus Christ. God bless you. Amen
