He arose
"And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him" (Luke 15:20 KJV). Christ is waiting for us. Just as a father waits for a son or daughter to return back home to visit, our Lord waits for us. The prodigal son asked his father for his share of the inheritance, that he may go out into the world and see what he may be missing. So, the father gave him his share, wished his son good luck, and said he'd see him soon. The young man went out and spent all his inheritance, his fortune, on reckless and loose living, only to find himself broke, down in out, and in a gutter. If things could not get any worse, a great famine came to the land which forced this young man to find work, and he did so feeding hogs. Sometimes the only way people can realize that they are so helpless, even with their own strength, is when everything begins to fall apart before their very eyes. Sometimes it takes a person living in a pig's pen to realize that they have fallen so far from the Truth and how they have given themselves over so easily to be among the hogs. This young man realized that he sinned against his father. He came to his senses and decided to return to his father and be a servant. As he climbed over the hill, little did he know that his father was waiting for him. Moved with tenderness and mercy, the father ran and embraced his child and kissed him fervently. This is an example of how God the Father embraces His children, when they decide to come back to Him. God bless you. Amen
