I sought him.
"By night on my bed I sought him whom my soul loveth: I sought him, but I found him not" (Song of Solomon 3:1 KJV). Where are you my beloved? This is the voice of one who has lost the anointing of God. On the outside, everything seems good and blessed, but in the inside they are being eaten up by their issue. King Solomon had a lust problem that took his heart away from the Lord. He was a man who had riches, wealth beyond all measures, cattle, fame, and fortune. However, lust for strange women lead him to the most lonely life, a life apart from the Lord. He lived a life that was lifeless, without meaning just another empty day. He made more and grabbed for more, assuming that his heart would find comfort, which it did for a minimal time. We who know the Lord are not ignorant to the enemy's game and temptations. It is very clear to every born-again child what is right and what is wrong, what is light and what is darkness. Unfortunately, the minute he or she begins to flirt with the thing that satisfies the flesh, it will soon take total control of their hearts. It will leave that person empty on the inside, without genuine life. Solomon knew better. The Lord showed Himself to him twice in his life. He preached powerful messages that came from Heaven itself. However, sin is no respecter of any one. He was lost in his lust, always looking to satisfy it. He had building after building, house after house, orchards, pools, exotic animals, gardens, horses, chariots, gold, silver, 700 wives, and 300 concubines, yet his lust was not satisfied. All this could not satisfy the wisest man's heart, and eventually he realized it was all vanity and without purpose. He looked for the Lord, but he could not find Him. "I opened to my beloved; but my beloved had withdrawn himself, and was gone: my soul failed when he spake: I sought him, but I could not find him; I called him, but he gave me no answer" (Song of Solomon 5:6 KJV). Lust is never satisfied. It has a hunger and thirst of its own, and it has a hard time taking no for an answer. There's only One that brings us victory from the flesh, Jesus Christ. God bless you. Amen
