Transgress

"Nay, my sons; for it is no good report that I hear: ye make the Lord's people to transgress" (1 Samuel 2:24 KJV). The priests were corrupt, and they were not about to change their minds because their hearts were already hardened and filled with deception. They had no knowledge of God or even a desire to know Him. They allowed their hearts to chase after the passions of the flesh. They had already gone too far, without any desire to change. They defiled themselves and the women who were dedicated to the house of God. We often wonder, how can one go so far? Or how can one who knows Christ allow themselves to be used, led astray, and captured by the enemy? It all has to do with man's heart. It has to do with allowing the flesh to arise and take control over the heart once again. Hophni and Phinehas made themselves fat with the chiefest of all the offering of Israel. How many modern-day preachers have made themselves fat by making the Word of God merchandise? Unfortunately, many have used the church without discerning it, and the enemy cunningly and subtly begins to make it into a business and lifestyle. Their hearts are being turned away from Calvary to their own pocketbooks. We live in times that are no different then when Eli's sons offered in the house of God. Be watchful and on your guard. The devil is out to steal, kill, and destroy. God bless you. Amen
