If any man will
"Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me" (Matthew 16:24 KJV). Jesus said, "Many are called but few are chosen". Not too many people will take on the call of Jesus Christ. To follow Jesus, we must deny ourselves and bear our cross. There are so many attractions in the world today. People are turning to the left and to the right. Even in the Church of God many are turning away from the faith and following after their own desires. We must keep on going forward, seek the Lord, and never give the flesh a chance to arise. That's why it is so important to walk in submission to the Holy Spirit. We need to allow the Holy Spirit to counsel us, raise us up, and to teach us what pleases God. All have been called, but few will follow. The world is full of change. It is in constant change. There is always a new gadget here and something new there, and the heart of man continues to chase after these changes. Christ never changes. He is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow. We cannot afford to walk away from such a loving God and such a merciful Lord. Surrender today. We must make up our minds. I also have things in my personal life I battle with, but I have to remember that I'm not in charge. Christ is in charge, for I bear my cross and follow Him daily. Praise God! God bless you.
