Moses fled

"Now when Pharaoh heard this thing, he sought to slay Moses. But Moses fled from the face of Pharaoh, and dwelt in the land of Midian: and he sat down by a well" (Exodus 2:15 KJV). Moses ran away, and he kept running until he got to the land of Midian. There he found himself alone, possibly staring up at the sky, and time and time again maybe even looking back to see if there were any Egyptian soldiers pursuing him. However, he was all alone. He sat at a well of water, as the thoughts of the past rolled through his mind. Thoughts of him murdering someone, and how Pharaoh wanted to slay him. He possibly had thoughts of how good Egypt was and if he would ever return. Sometimes we think about returning to our old ways, and sometimes we may even want to go back. God provided for Moses in a desert. The Lord our God took care of Moses as he dwelt in the wilderness for 40 years. God provided for him. God had a plan and a future for Moses. So, when we are alone in our desperate times, assuming there is no one around and no one who cares, we must remember God is looking down from Heaven trying to get our attention. He has a plan for you and I. It hurts to go through the wilderness, the dry times of our lives, but we have to keep our faith in Jesus Christ and not in the circumstances that surround us. Moses fled for his life. He ran from the world. He surrendered everything. We must also surrender everything to the Lord, and pursue Christ even in a dry and weary land. God has a plan. God bless you.
