The fountain of living waters.
"O Lord, the hope of Israel, all that forsake thee shall be ashamed, and they that depart from me shall be written in the earth, because they have forsaken the Lord, the fountain of living waters" (Jeremiah 17:13 KJV). The Lord will not forsake His children for they are His desire. The prophet Jeremiah pleaded to the Lord for the sake of the people. He asked the Lord to have mercy and healing upon them along with deliverance. Jeremiah cried most of his ministry. He was in tears, seeking the Lord with hope, and praying that his people would once again return to his glorious God. Time and time again the people would turn to their old wicked ways and worship ungodly idols, while ignoring the words of God's prophet. Man can be so stubborn. Many times he is only drawn to his own selfish desires. This battle between God and man has been going on for centuries, but through the midst of it all there is a man or woman of God who prays for the people. Jeremiah tried to get their attention, but even with the anointing of the Spirit of God upon him, the people still would not listen. They just mocked him and turned their heads away. So many turn their heads away today. Many are forsaking the Living Waters to run after things that will bring them shame in the eyes of the Lord. Amid all this, there is a man and a woman, just as there was a prophet, Jeremiah, who prays to the Lord to heal, save, and to bring the stiff-necked people out of bondage. God bless you. Amen.
