A Whole Heart.
“And you, Solomon my son, know the God of your father and serve him with a whole heart and with a willing mind, for the Lord searches all hearts and understands every plan and thought. If you seek him, he will be found by you, but if you forsake him, he will cast you off forever" (1 Chronicles 28:9 ESV). King David told his son, Solomon, to serve God will a whole heart and with a willing mind. King David knew what it took to serve the Lord, and how the mind can be your worst enemy. Our minds can hold us back from receiving the blessings from God, and it can keep a person back from the real truth. It is the mind that does the thinking and makes the plans for our lives. It is powerful. Jesus said out of the heart comes evil. "And He said, That which cometh out of the man, that defileth the man. For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, and foolishness: All these evil things come from within, and defile the man" (Mark 7:20-23 KJV). Our hearts can also bring peace and joy to the hearts of many. It can also hurt others or bring blessings or curses. Only God can search it out. God understands our plans and thoughts, whether they are good or bad, for nothing is hidden from Him. A father speaks to his son and warns him to serve the Lord fully, to be acquainted with, and to understand Him. He encourages him to serve Him with a blameless heart and to have a personal relationship with Him. If you seek Him first, you will be found by Him, but if you forsake Him, He will forsake you, casting you off forever. It is the heart that bring us closer to God or separates us from our blessing with the Lord. God bless you. Amen
