Hear the Word of The Lord

"Then Isaiah said to Hezekiah, 'Hear the word of the Lord : Behold, the days are coming, when all that is in your house, and that which your fathers have stored up till this day, shall be carried to Babylon. Nothing shall be left, says the Lord'" (2 Kings 20:16, 17 ESV). King Hezekiah was a great king. He was a powerful king who did right in the sight of the Lord. He took down all the idols from around Judea and destroyed them. He restored the land and opened the doors of the house of God that had been shut for a very long time. He cleansed the temple and prepared it for worship. He made a covenant with the Lord and brought the fire back to the altar. The musicians were brought back to praise and worship the Lord. The Lord anointed King Hezekiah greatly, for he was a man willing to do the Lord's will. The Lord gives us the answer to a successful life through the life of King Hezekiah. He did everything he had to do to keep the enemy from having rule over his kingdom. He destroyed everything that grieved the Lord's heart, and he restored worship to the Temple of God. He set watchmen on the wall to keep guard and to warn the people when the enemy was coming near. However, at the end of his reign, he fell into the grip of pride. He opened the door to the enemy, the kingdom of Babylon. He allowed Babylon to go into the walls of his domain and to see all the silver, gold, spices, and precious ointments, his treasure. Instead of giving God all the glory and mentioning how precious the Lord is, he kept quiet. Sometimes we tend to take all the credit for the work that the Lord has done. Be watchful to whom or to what you open the door of your heart to. God bless you. Amen
