As a thief in the night.

"But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?" (2 Peter 3:10-12 KJV) Who do we rely on? Do we rely on the very Word of God or the government of our nation? Nothing is going to last here on the earth. It will all melt away. Everything we labored for and all that we attached our lives to will dissolve. The government may be shut down, but the Lord never shuts down. His door is always open to those who seek Him. Times may look unsure and things around us may not be as they once were, but our God never changes. He always remains the same. The Lord will run and help those who trust Him at all times. When the enemy charges in, the Holy Lord will not only protect us but also make a way of escape. He isn't about to let the devil take His children. When the prophets of old heard and saw the enemy coming to harm God's children, they would warn them with a word from God. God would give a warning to the people before harm came in. Today, God is speaking to the church. He says, "Be on your guard"! Anything can happen at any time. We live in uncertain days, where nothing is guaranteed to us except Jesus Christ. People have put their trust in the government, only to find out it will all come to an end. Nothing lasts forever. Keep your head up, and walk in the Lord because we look for His promise, the new heavens and a new earth to dwell on. God bless you. Amen
