So much rubbish.

"Then Judah said, “The strength of the laborers is failing, and there is so much rubbish that we are not able to build the wall” (Nehemiah 4:10 NKJV). A house is not built by one man. Even God, up in heaven, does not sit alone. For the Son and God the Holy Spirit sits there with Him. We cannot build alone. The people of Judea began to complain as they saw the rubbish in the streets of their city. They quickly began to lose heart by the way their circumstances looked. This can be the greatest thing that interferes with the believer that needs to get back to Christ. Rubbish is useless. It is good for nothing, yet it is in the way of our labor. Maybe our past or yesterday's sin is in the way of our lives. This rubbish needs to be cleared out before the wall can stand once again. Too much rubbish may fill our hearts, homes, and streets, taking our strength away and causing us to fail. Nehemiah had the heart to rebuild Jerusalem, and God the Father gave him the strength and the Holy Spirit to do so. Nehemiah's heart was filled with hope in the secret place of prayer, and in that place the Lord put hope and a great hunger in his heart to see the children of God standing once again. Nehemiah labored through all the rubbish. The rubbish only built hope in his heart and the desire to see the city of God standing, cleaned, fortified, and ready for any attack that may come. Let us also do the labor of the Lord, who has called us. It isn't time to grow weary in our labor. It is time that we seek the Lord in prayer and find His strength to continue the work that needs to be done. Remove all that is useless out, and allow God to bring in the new. God bless you. Amen
