What doth The Lord require of thee.

"He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God" (Micah 6:8 KJV)? The Lord spoke to Israel through the prophet Micah, and He reminded them of all He had done and had shown them. He reminded them that He is the only way to salvation and also of what He has required of us all. Our Lord Jesus Christ has come to show us and give us the way to salvation. He constantly tries to grab the attention of our hearts to let us know that His ways are honesty, mercy, and humility and that we should be walking the same way. Sometimes we may find ourselves no different than Israel, trying to sacrifice everything we have to meet the needs of God the Father. How quickly we forget that Jesus Christ came down to the earth, was crucified and died, and that He paid the price. He is the ultimate sacrifice. We are to become followers of our Lord Jesus Christ and true worshipers of Him only. The Lord cries over the cities and nations of this world. He sees the wickedness that is treasured up in the house of the wicked. He sees how so many people continue to hide in their personal treasures of wickedness. We must be honest with ourselves. Are we doing as the Lord requires? The Lord looks upon us with mercy. Just as He is merciful, we too must show mercy to those who surround us every day. It is through humility that one can come near to the Lord. Begin to seek what He requires of us, and live it out through the Holy Spirit. God bless you. Amen
