Obedient children
"As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance" (1 Peter 1:14 KJV). Obedience to the Word of God opens the heavens. Obedience and faith go together, for one must be obedient to the command of God in order to step out by faith. Behind every command of God, there is a promise unto His children. Stepping out in faith is stepping into action led by the Holy Spirit to do the will of God. Jesus did not come to do His own thing, but He came to do the will of God the Father. Everything Jesus spoke came from the throne room of God, and every miracle Jesus did came from God the Father. Jesus did not come to fulfill His own will but to fulfill what God had commanded Him to do. Jesus is our greatest example of one who walks by faith and not by sight. He did not allow the world to distract Him or cheat Him from the blessings and promises of God. Too many times we allow the world to deceive us and take our faith. God commanded that we be separated from the contaminations of the world, and when we do so He will fulfill His promises in our lives. We must step out first in action, then God will step out in action on our behalf. Faith begins with us, and it begins with us being obedient to God's commands. God bless you. Amen
