Arm Yourselves

"Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin; That he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God" (1 Peter 4:1, 2 KJV). There is a great battle within every Christian today and in everyone who has ever lived. This battle is deep within, and it is between the flesh and the spirit. It is a battle for our own will or the will of God. Be aware! The flesh likes to be gratified. It gets hungry, and many times the believer won't heed to the voice of the Spirit of God speaking to their hearts. All the Holy Spirit is trying to do is get the attention of the heart of man, letting him know not to go any further. The more we turn away from the Holy Spirit, the bigger and hungrier the flesh will get. Jesus has suffered for us in the flesh at Calvary, and He suffered in the flesh so that we might have victory over the flesh. This relationship is not based on self-will, and it never will be. One who tries building this relationship, while depending on self-efforts, will find themselves lacking and struggling in their walk with Christ. So, arm yourself with the same mind of Christ. He suffered in the flesh that we may be free and live a life in victory. Stop depending on yourself, and totally depend on the Holy Spirit, who demands that our faith be in the sacrifice of Christ. Give God praise. God bless you. Amen
