Ye cannot hear my word.

"Why do ye not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear my word" (John 8:43 KJV). Man who is unconverted cannot understand the Word of the Lord. That doesn't mean they cannot be reached for God. However, just like the Pharisees, many will stand around ridiculing the Truth because the Word is not planted inside of them. The Lord Jesus has ministered unto man for many centuries. Yet, those who are bound by the flesh will not tolerate the sound doctrine, the honest truth, until they fall on their faces and realize that their strength is limited. The only way out is up. The Word of God is given to us so that we may be filled spiritually and not physically. Man has used the Word for a temporary fill on Sunday morning. Jesus makes it clear to the Pharisees that they cannot understand His speech because the Word of God does not dominate them. In other words, they have the knowledge but have no desire for a relationship. Jesus reminds them of the facts that sin originated from the devil and that sin brings forth death. Where there is no truth there will be rebellion, lies, and disobedience. "Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it" (vs. 44). The Lord makes it clear that even the most religious man, with the knowledge of the Word but without the relationship with the Word, can be a liar and among the father of all lies. If the word does not abide in us, deep down in our hearts, we ourselves can become like the devil. It is the Word of God that analyzes every thought and intent of our hearts. It is powerful and sharper than any two edged sword. Give God praise today. God bless you. Amen
