Peter got up and ran

"But Peter got up and ran to the tomb; and stooping down and looking in, he saw the linen cloths alone by themselves, and he went away, wondering about and marveling at what had happened" (Luke 24:12 AMP). The women came from the tomb. The Lord Jesus was not in the tomb because He had risen from the grave. The women told the disciples what they had experienced, but they did not believe. However, Peter did not hesitate. He ran down to the tomb, where they had laid the Lord's body three days before. He did not let his feelings of denying Christ get in the way. Peter knew he did wrong, and he regretted it badly. Regardless, he had to get to that tomb. He had to see the Lord. He was desperate to ask for forgiveness and for another chance. How many times have we denied the Lord and tried to live a life without Him? Peter knew who Jesus really was, "the Messiah, the Son of God". Peter loved the Lord for who He was, and he wasn't about to let anything get in the way of his love for Christ. In desperate situations, even if we do fail in our walk with the Lord, we must not look at the temporal things, the things that surround us and try to pull us away from the Lord, even the thoughts in our own hearts. We must look at the eternal things for they can only come from Christ Jesus, the one who can raise us all out of sin, guilt, and shame if we are desperate enough. Run to Him, who has the answer to all of life's needs. God bless you. Amen
