A vessel
"Take away the dross from the silver, and there shall come forth [the material for] a vessel for the silversmith [to work up]" (Proverbs 25:4 AMP). We must be faithful vessels for Jesus Christ. We must allow the Holy Spirit to expose every bit of impurities in our hearts. We must allow Him to take us faithfully to the altar of grace in repentance, until we are faithful and obedient to His Word, to His nature, and to His attributes. He is looking for nothing other than a faithful man and woman, one who will deny themselves, pick up their cross daily, and choose Christ every morning. Jesus wants to walk with His children. He wants to talk and enjoy us, but we must long and want to enjoy Him also. His disciples walked with Him for 3 1/2 years. They were close to the Word of God. Jesus himself spoke to them everyday and taught them everything about God the Father. Yet, one of the 12 ignored the Word of God and found himself far from the Truth. Lead away by his own passions and desires of the heart, Judas ended up betraying Jesus after walking with him for 3 1/2 years. Judas went after what his heart desired, which was money, and that took him to eternal damnation. He did not allow the Word of God to touch him or grab his heart. It is the Word that transforms a man and woman into the image of God. The apostle Paul says to imitate God the Father as children imitate their daddies. The only way we can imitate God the Father is through the Word living inside of us. One can only resemble Christ, but only if that one has been alone with Christ. Whomever you hang around with is who you will become like. The only way the world will know Christ is if we to begin to look like Him. Get alone with the Lord this day and allow Him to grow inside of your heart. God bless you. Amen
