They knew not The Lord

"Now Eli was very old, and heard all that his sons did unto all Israel; and hothey lay with the women that assembled at the door of the tabernacle ofcongregation" (1 Samuel 2:22 KJV). "The sons of Eli were sons of Belial; they knew not The Lord" (vs. 12). The sons of Eli perverted the alter, the sacrifice, and the house of God. The Word of God says, they w"worthless" because they had no knowledge of the Lord. They did everything for themselves and could careless about the House of God. There was a time when the Light of God did not shine in the temple of God. It was a dark time because there was no voice from the Lord. There were no words coming from God the Father. Eli, the priest, was going blind in his eyes, and not only was he losing his sight, but his heart also grew spiritually blind. He did not recognize the severity of his two son's actions and what they were doing in the temple of God. These two young boys were taking advantage of everything God had to offer to the children of Israel. They were playing in the house of God and laying with the women in the doorways of the tabernacle. This grieved God greatly. Just like every other time, when man's heart gets in the way, God shoots forth a greater plan. God isn't going to move with a man that wants to do his own thing. The Light of the Lord no longer had a desire to stay lit in the tabernacle of God because sin took dominion in the door. As long as there is still sin hiding and harboring within us, the Light of God will not light up inside of us. One will become barren and useless for the kingdom of God. Sin stops and separates God from man. But God always finds someone willing to humble themselves. Is that you? God bless you. Amen
