Bearing His cross.

"And he bearing his cross went forth into a place called the place of a skull, which is called in the Hebrew Golgotha" (John 19:17 KJV) Jesus and the cross brings victory to our lives. The Cross of Calvary is not just an image, a symbol, or something we wear around our necks.  It's more than that. It's power. The Cross of our Lord Jesus Christ broke every chain of darkness, and it reconciles all things back to Him. The devil thought he had victory when Jesus went to Calvary, but it all turned around on him. How can you kill what is willing to die? We too must bear our crosses.  As the Gospel says, "And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple" (Luke 14:27 KJV). Jesus' cross was different. His was wooden, but ours is spiritual. When we bear our crosses, we no longer rely on our human strength and endurance. Bearing the cross is giving up our human energies that leave us lying helpless and hopeless. Jesus said, "Without me you can do nothing." So, He asks us to take up our crosses until we learn the lesson of self denial. The ministry of Jesus was to show the power of love that the Father had for all His creation. When we deny ourselves, He becomes life inside of us, who encourages and brings us hope. Grab your cross, and allow the cross to build you into a faithful and self denying disciple of Christ. God bless you all.
