I am the Vine, You Are the Branches

“I am the Vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing" (John 15:5 NKJV). To abide in the Vine is to become part of God’s goodness and glory. When one abides in the Vine, they immediately become victorious over this world, for Jesus Christ becomes everything in their lives. A branch in the Vine that brings forth no fruit is purged and pruned so that they may bring forth fruit. We are not to remain the same, for when God prunes He cuts away the old nature. When we are pruned, we will begin to put our faith and trust in Him. The more we grow, the more we are pruned away from the old nature. The more we begin to trust in Him, the more we begin to grow in Him. As Christians and believers of the Word of our Lord and Savior, we will grow. When we put our trust in the Vine, we will grow along with the Vine. However, the moment we begin to reject and disagree with the Word of God, we will begin to wither away from the inside out. Growth comes through Jesus Christ and our faith in Him. He makes it very clear that He is the Vine and we are the branches. We must abide in the Vine. "If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples" (John 15:7,8 NKJV). God bless you.
