Looking unto Jesus

"Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God" (Hebrews 12:2 KJV). Jesus suffered a terrible death on the cross through crucifixion. Crucifixion was common in the Roman Era. It was customary for a convicted person to first be scourged, then stripped of his clothes, and finally nailed to a cross. The nails were inserted just above the wrists, between the two bones of the forearm, or driven through the wrists. When one was nailed to the cross, there was a massive strain put on the wrists, arms, and shoulders, and it often resulted in the dislocation of the shoulder and elbow joints. Crucifixion was meant to be a painful and lingering death.  The length of time expected for a person to die from crucifixion could range from hours to a number of days. The physical death of Jesus Christ was incredibly painful. It was excruciating. He took it all for us, for everyone of us who have fallen short of the glory of God. He took the beating. He took the pain and the nails to His hands and feet. Look away from all that distracts you from Jesus Christ, and begin to seek our leader and source of our faith. Jesus is  the leader and source of our faith. Jesus is the Truth, the Way, and the Life. There's no other way but through Jesus Christ and the cross of Calvary. Praise God. God bless you all.
