The greatest of these is Love
"And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love" (I Corinthians 13:13 NKJV). Nothing stopped the Lord Jesus Christ from going to Calvary. Nothing stopped Jesus from taking the punishment, the brutal beating for you and I. Death could not stop Him, nor evil or wickedness. Why? Because He has a love that cannot be stopped by anything. God's love is not the same love we have on earth for one another. His love is powerful, faithful, and never failing. His Love oversees sin and is never moved. The apostle Paul gives us all a look and a glimpse at God's great love. Here in chapter 13, we see God's love and how powerful it is. Yes, we can love our loved ones, one another, or family members. However, can we love the stranger, those that are out there in this world as Christ loves them? Jesus did not stop loving us even to the point of death. He loved us through the turmoil and through the tribulation. He kept us in His Heart. Even when we fall short of the glory of God, He still doesn't stop loving us. Many need to understand that God does not take back what He has given. He has poured out His Son upon all humanity as a sacrifice, and through that comes a demonstration of great unspeakable love. We can have everything, but without love we are truly empty. "If I give away all I have, and if I deliver up my body to be burned, but have not love, I gain nothing" (1 Corinthians 13:3 ESV). Ask God for more love. God bless you all.
