And fear came

"And fear came upon every soul: and many wonders and signs were done by the apostles. And all that believed were together, and had all things common" (Acts 2:43, 44 KJV). Boldness arose out of the church immediately after all the believers were filled with the Holy Ghost. Mighty things began to happen through the apostles. People were coming by the hundreds to be healed. Many came with demon spirits living inside of them, and they were cured and set free. The church began to flourish, and thousands of people began to recognize something special about it. Jesus Christ gave the church the power to stand in the midst of opposition and the boldness to speak the truth, even when persecution surrounded them. Jesus was with them. There was never any other organization like this body of people. They began to arise as God brought forth mighty wonders and signs. As a result, the people had a reverence for the apostles and the followers of Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit gave the church a great start. Outsiders recognized them as the people who knew Jesus Christ, and they saw what their belief and faith brought to them. People knew they were part of a powerful body of believers, who were passionate and loving. They were followers of Jesus. It was something that many at that time we're looking for. God wants lift up the church of today with the same passions and desires that filled the first church. God is able to bring people who are in need to a church that is willing to follow him. Nothing is impossible for God. We must desire him above all things and allow the Holy Spirit to do the rest of the work. God bless you. Amen
