Willing
Jesus picked twelve disciples. He saw the need for students to carry the Good news into the world. He did not go into the synagogues to find disciples. He did not go to the educators to find disciples. He went and found ordinary unlearned men, men who were familiar with sin. "When Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus' knees, saying, Depart from me; for I am a sinful man, O Lord" (Luke 5:8 KJV). Peter saw the miracle that Jesus did out on the boat, and immediately he noticed He was among Christ the Messiah. Peter knew that he was just a sinful man, and he thought that he could never be one who could walk with a man like Christ. However, Jesus knew the disciples would be great followers and good students. He must have saw something in them. He was sure they would partake in His message, would be willing to abide in it, and willing follow Christ the Messiah. They left everything behind, their families, loved ones, homes, and occupations, and they began to follow Jesus Christ. Jesus began to pour His life into them, and He is willing to do the same for all who decide to follow Him. Jesus became their teacher and guide, showing them the will and power of God the Father. Jesus wants us to follow Him with a full heart also, but there is a price to pay. God bless you. Amen
