He withdrew himself

"And he withdrew himself into the wilderness, and prayed" (Luke 5:16 KJV). After teaching, healing the sick, and spending time with all the people that followed Him, Jesus Himself made time to get alone with God the Father. Jesus disciplined Himself to spend time alone with God. This alone time was vital, and it would equip Him and help Him meet the new challenges that were ahead. Today we live in a fast-paced world. It seems like nothing stops at all. People are always going, always on the move. Many people live by a schedule made out every week. We could so easily fall into a routine in our daily lives. However, one thing that many forget to put on their schedule is their time with Christ, our Lord. With this fast-paced life, we could easily fall into the habit of doing everything we could possibly do in one day to get things done. We run around in exhaustion, taking care of our needs and the needs of others, but we can easily forget one vital need, our relationship with God the Father. Many times we get so busy with our own personal lives, our families, and our jobs, and very few times do many people find time for the Lord. Jesus made sure He drew away to a quiet solitary place to pray. There are many things that want to grab our attention that often run us ragged. Like Jesus, we should take time to withdraw to a quiet place to pray. We need strength, strength for a new day. We need the strength that comes from God, and that strength is only found when we are spending time with Him alone. Let's take time out of our busy schedules to meet with the Lord in a quiet place. God bless you. Amen
