Obedient children
"Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance" (1 Peter 1:13, 14 KJV). Obedience and humility keeps us alive in Jesus Christ. The Lord speaks of us being holy, just as He is holy. However, the only way men and women can stay holy is by staying obedient to the Word of God and allowing the Holy Spirit to consume their lives. We must hunger and desire the Word of God and allow it to build its' character in our hearts. It's not enough to just go to church for a couple of hours a week, but His Word must penetrate our lives daily. The Word of God must be in our lives everyday, and in order for us to obey it we must accept it. Our lives must be totally surrendered to the Word of God. Jesus has purchased us from a corrupted seed. He came as an unblemished lamb, a Holy Sacrifice, bringing life to those who believe and live in obedience to the Word of God. Humility and obedience comes from His Word. Our obedience to our Savior brings a greater life, a life filled with promises, and a greater desire to know Him. There's no stopping the child who is obedient to God. God will continue moving that child forward. The Lord is able to show that child His will and mysteries in a much greater way. Obedience is better than sacrifice. God bless you. Amen
